Scholarship application deadline

Scholarship news

The Scholarship committee would like to let all college students that would like to apply for scholarships know that applications are now available in the church office. If possible, please complete the applications before you leave for college. However, the deadline for applications will be October 12th. Please return the application to the church office, or one of these committee members: Barb Leifheit, Sheila Dornink, Cindy Boyer, Melodie Holt, Dennis Zimmerman (Council Rep)

Backyard fun begins for VBS

VBS 2008Vacation Bible School began on Monday, July 7th. The children participated in Bible lessons, music, crafts … and fun! We’ve added some photos to our Photo Galleries.

July Food Pantry items

For the month of July, we will be collecting boxed meals and cereals. These items will be a big help to those families that have school children home for the summer. Again, we thank you for your generosity and continued support of this outreach.

Women’s Fellowship meeting

The July meeting of Women’s Fellowship will be held Wednesday evening, July 2, 2008 at 7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Mabel Bechtold will be worship leader and Diane Schurch will serve refreshments. All St. Paul women are welcome to join in Bible study and fellowship.

CCCC Annual Conference

This year, the Annual Conference of the CCCC will be held in Buffalo, NY, July 21st through 24th. Pastor Dick and Randy Filer will be attending the conference as our church will be admitted into the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference during the conference. If you would be interested in attending too, or would like further information, please contact the church office.

Parade Float

St. Paul will be participating in a number of parades in the coming months: Dakota’s Day in the Park Parade on June 7th, Davis Days on June 21st, Day in Rock City on July 19th, and Durand’s 4th of July Celebration.

One of our goals is to make our ministry at St. Paul much more visible. If you have ideas for the float, please contact Mary Jane Zimmerman, Worship Committee Chair or the church office. Thanks!

Vacation Bible School

The date for Vacation Bible School at St. Paul has been set for July 7-11 from 9:00 AM til noon. Mark your calendars now! We will be in need of volunteers to help with this awesome event. Please begin praying about this to see what God wants from you. Also a note to those high school students that are looking for community service, this is a great way to get those needed hours! Talk to April if you would like to help!
